Department of Livestock, Distributes LSD Vaccines

 

In a significant stride towards safeguarding the health of Bhutan’s livestock against the current Lumpy Skin Disease, the Department of Livestock has efficiently distributed 294,350 doses of Lumpy Skin Disease vaccines across all 20 Dzongkhags. The nationwide initiative, aimed at protecting the country’s valuable livestock population, commenced on August 20th, 2023.

The meticulous execution of this mass vaccination effort showcases the Department’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of Bhutan’s livestock. In each Dzongkhag, the Dzongkhag Livestock sector spearheaded the campaign, with a unique and heartwarming touch: seeking blessings from revered religious institutions. This initiative resonates with the deeply rooted values of Bhutanese society, emphasising the harmonious coexistence of spiritual beliefs and practical endeavours.
