𝟏𝟓 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: In order to strengthen the leadership skills, the Department of Livestock initiated a weekly jam session led by the Director which featured modules from Nurturing Leadership Program (NLP) introduced by the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC). Over the past five weeks, the Director and team, involving participants centres, farms and Dzongkhags actively engaged in the interactive session which was arranged through virtual mode, gaining significant insights into numerous leadership tools such as performance coaching, five-star team, team learning, strategic sensing, and agile problem-solving. These learning experiences have been enriching and are expected to benefit all participants as an individual leader.

In addition to the modules on the Nurturing Leadership Program (NLP), participants who have successfully completed the Leadership Development Program (also introduced by RCSC) at Royal Institute of Management are given the opportunity to present their Leadership Change Projects (LCP). These projects aim to enhance their leadership skills and abilities as they work towards achieving their objectives, besides sharing their experiences and learnings with other participants.

Thus far, Mr. Aita Kumar Bhujel, the Deputy Chief Livestock Officer at National Dairy Devlopment Centre, presented his leadership change project (LCP) on the expansion of heifer production scheme in the country. Similarly, Mr. Ugyen Lhendup, Dy. Chief Dzongkhag Livestock Officer, who has also previously served as Officiating Dzongdag of Zhemgang Dzongkhag, presented a project aimed at strengthening the delivery of public services in the Dzongkhag.
