The National Centre for Animal Health, Department of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Royal Government of Bhutan, is delighted to share the latest update on Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) vaccination program in the country.

Since August 19, 2023, a remarkable effort has led to the successful vaccination of 178,292 bovines (cattle, yak, mithun and buffalo) in 181 Gewogs of 20 Dzongkhags.

𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: Dr. Abdullah Tutak, the Director General of Vetal Animal Health Products Inc., Turkey that supplied Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) vaccines to the country is currently on a two-day visit to Bhutan. During his visit, he called on the Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock and the Director, Department of Livestock and discussed the scope for future collaborations and his commitment to work closely with the Ministry and Department of Livestock.

He delivered a presentation at the National Centre for Animal Health covering topics on LSD vaccines, other vaccines and biologicals produced in his facility, production systems, cattle farm, and the production facility networks.
