5th – 6th June, 2024: Department of Livestock Hosts Workshop on Enhancing GHG Reporting and Transparency and holds Bhutan Yak Federation General Assembly.

The Department of Livestock is currently hosting a workshop in Haa focused on enhancing greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and transparency. This event includes a consultation meeting with livestock officials and stakeholders, including representatives from highland regions, to raise awareness about climate change and GHG emissions.

The Department also holds the Bhutan Yak Federation General Assembly in conjunction with this workshop. The assembly aims to strengthen the Bhutan Yak Federation by enhancing the capacity of yak cooperatives, and their office bearers, and planning focused interventions aligned with the 13th Five-Year Plan.

This initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to sustainable livestock management and climate change mitigation.
