𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬

𝟐𝟔 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: The Department of Livestock held the second session of the Nurturing Leadership Program (NLP) on the 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 – 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 today, hosted by the Director. Participants and staff from the Directorate, field and regional offices attended the program. The jam session on NLP is an initiative by the Department aimed at developing the leadership skills of potential leaders. The program is designed to provide participants with a platform to enhance their leadership capabilities and enable them to become effective leaders in their respective fields.

Participants engaged in interactive sessions, sharing their experiences, and learning from each other. The session was led by the Director, who shared her insights on leadership and encouraged participants to embrace a collaborative leadership style.

Nurturing Leadership Program (NLP) was promoted by the Royal Civil Service Commission partnering with the Ulrich Allen Leadership Capital towards the vision of “An engaged and responsive Civil Service accelerating and securing Bhutan’s status as a developed country”

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock held a debriefing meeting with two sturgeon experts from Belgium, Dr. Willy Verdonck and Dr. Mia Verdonck on the plans to develop Sturgeon Farming in Bhutan.

During their 11-days visit to the country, the experts visited fish farms and research facilities at the National Research and Development Center for Riverine and Lake Fisheries, Haa and the Bhutan Sturgeon Farm in Harachhu and conducted a rapid assessment of the rearing facilities and existing fish stock. After thoroughly reviewing the development plans for sturgeon farming, they presented a comprehensive set of technical recommendation for further development of the project.

The experts, who have over 30 years of experience in sturgeon farming and caviar production, are highly knowledgeable and experienced in the field. Their recommendations are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing the technical capacity of the Ministry in developing sturgeon farming programs in the country.

The Ministry expressed its sincere gratitude to Dr. Willy and Dr. Mia for their valuable contributions and looks forward to continued collaboration in the future. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Secretary of MoAL and attended by key officials from the Department of Livestock.
