𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐧’𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲

𝟏𝟎 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: The Director of the Department of Livestock, along with Honorable 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘮 𝘓𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘱𝘰 and the 𝘋𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘰 Secretary, led the livestock fraternity in a productive video conference with His Excellency Hon’ble Prime Minister today. The meeting primarily focused on the issues faced by livestock officials as a result of human resource shortages and frequent disease outbreaks, which have hampered the efficiency of service delivery on the ground. The meeting, also moderated by Honorable 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘮 𝘓𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘱𝘰, provided a forum for the Department to present and address concerns confronting field colleagues in these exceptional circumstances. The field colleagues expressed their concerns about the critical need to solve these difficulties on the ground in order to provide good service to clients and farmers. Honorable 𝘔𝘪𝘫𝘦𝘺 𝘓𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘯’𝘴 incisive remarks and acknowledgment of the common concerns gave a source of hope as well as an opportunity for field colleagues to voice their concerns.

Over 150 livestock officials attended the meeting, including 𝘎𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘨 livestock supervisors, 𝘋𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘨 Livestock Officers, Regional Veterinary Officers, 𝘋𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘨 Veterinary Officers, 𝘋𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘨 Livestock Production Officers, Assistant 𝘋𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘨 Livestock Officers, heads of central programs and farms under the Department of Livestock, and headquarters officials.

The Department will soon consolidate all the issues raised and submit it to the Ministry.

𝟕 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: The Department of Livestock successfully concluded a comprehensive day-long induction program for 13 new recruits who will assume the role of Livestock Supervisors in various Dzongkhags. During the program, the newly appointed individuals were oriented with an overview of the operational procedures within different divisions, as well as the central programs and farms. They were also briefed on their responsibilities in delivering services to farmers in collaboration with the Dzongkhag Livestock Sectors, promoting efficiency in service delivery.

In conclusion of the program, the Director expressed gratitude and extended congratulations to the newly recruited individuals for securing significant and vital positions. The Director also emphasized the importance of demonstrating leadership qualities in delivering services with utmost efficiency and effectiveness. Furthermore, the Director highlighted the critical juncture at which these individuals have joined the civil service, considering the ongoing loss of human resources and the pressing need to enhance the service delivery system as a key national priority. It was emphasized that upholding the highest values while serving the country and carrying out their duties is of utmost importance.

The 13 new recruits will be placed in 12 Dzongkhags from July this year.
