𝟐 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: The Department of Livestock held its 15th Departmental meeting with the Ministry, chaired by Dasho Secretary. The meeting also attended by Director, DoL, officials from HQ, PPD, Ministry Cluster Finance Service, Dzongkhag Livestock Sectors, Centres and farms deliberated on issues pertaining to:
1) On-going ASF challenges and consultation with Dzongkhags to mitigate the severity of the disease; 2) Business opportunities to upscale the incomes for highlanders; 3) Impact of changing weather patterns and climate change on the livestock farms; 4) Need of additional veterinarians in the field; 5) Overall financial resource utilization for the financial year 2022-23; 6) Livestock population and production census 2022 issued by NSB; 7) On-going issues on shortage of table egg in the market and way forwards; 8. Improvisation of animal health service delivery; 9) HR issues in the field.
The monthly Departmental meeting is an initiative of the Ministry to take stock of issues and challenges, and strategically address the pressing issues in a consultative approach.
