𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵 – 𝘊𝘩𝘩𝘶𝘬𝘩𝘢 𝘋𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘩𝘢𝘨 𝘈𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯
2𝟕 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑: This is to notify all the general public that there is an outbreak of 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞(𝐋𝐒𝐃) in cattle in some Gewogs of Chhukha Dzongkhag. LSD is a viral disease that affects cattle which is highly contagious, occasionally fatal disease characterized by nodules on the skin and other parts of the body. Infected cattle develop fever, lacrimation, nasal discharge, and hypersalivation, followed by characteristic eruptions on the skin. The disease can be spread through the movement of infected cattle to non-affected areas. The only control measures are to control and prevent the movement of these affected cattle.
With this notification, the movement of cattle to and fro the Gewogs and dzongkhag and beyond shall be restricted until the disease is fully contained. Our livestock extension agents in the affected area are trying their best to treat the sick animals. Therefore, all concerned are requested to cooperate and provide full support until the ban-lift notification is issued.
