๐Ÿ๐Ÿ” ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘: Ms. Nancy Johnston, a consultant of FAO Bhutan paid a courtesy visit to the Hon’ble Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL). The meeting served as a vital opportunity to discuss and exchange insights on the consorted efforts aimed at developing the value-chain for Noble Yak Fibre in Bhutan. Ms. Johnston, recently concluded her two-week visit to Bhutan, during which, she conducted a series of crucial on-site evaluations of farms and infrastructure facilities at the National Yak Farm in Haa and the National Sheep Farm in Bumthang.

Ms. Johnston is an esteemed entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of โ€œHouse of Tengriโ€, a UK based fashion brand known for promoting sustainability and fair practices in the fashion and lifestyle industry. Ms. Johnston is currently serving as a technical consultant through FAO to facilitate formulating a comprehensive strategy for development of Noble Yak Fibre value-chain in Bhutan.

Ms. Nancy Johnston of UK, who is currently serving as a technical consultant fielded through the UN FAO, presented the de-briefing report to the Department on the strategy and vision for development of Noble Yak Fibre value-chain in Bhutan. Ms. Johnston, during her two weeks stay, conducted a series of crucial on-site evaluations, including visits to the National Yak Farm in Haa and the National Sheep Farm in Bumthang. These visits allowed her to gain valuable insights into the current state of infrastructure and facilities for fibre processing in the country.

Ms. Johnston is an esteemed entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of โ€œHouse of Tengriโ€, a UK based fashion brand known for promoting sustainability and fair practices in the fashion and lifestyle industry. Leveraging her expertise, Ms. Johnston facilitated the formulation of a comprehensive Strategy and Vision Document for the Noble Yak Fibre value-chain specific for Bhutan.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Department as well as representative officials from FAO Bhutan and UNDP Bhutan. The Director of DoL chaired the meeting.
